Rural Task Force |
||
|
Being a small team with specialist skills and knowledge, we quite often get asked “What does the RTF do?!”
On 24th January 2025 The Rural Task Force completed a “Ride Along” as part of a force public engagement opportunity.
This allows members of the public, to join officers on patrol to observe the work we do and is a great opportunity for us to show our communities what being part of Humberside Police’s Rural Task Force involves and how we work with and support our rural communities.
Whilst out on patrol the observer was able to see us respond to an active Hare Coursing incident, stop vehicles, patrol rural areas, speak to people in the community and see in general what an RTF shift looks like.
We discussed our involvement with the following –
Rural acquisitive crime, including farm and machinery thefts, GPS thefts and plant machinery. Livestock theft. Fuel theft. Equine crime. Heritage and wildlife crime and some of the more specialist crime we investigate.
Our observer had the following to say after the shift – “I loved being out with the team; I had only just completed the paperwork when it was time to go! I found it so interesting - it certainly gave me a real insight into how the police respond to potential crimes.”
